LIES ABOUT STATUTE AND OFF-RIO

Clube de Regatas do Flamengo comes to clarify the issue of partner “Off-Rio", which has been falsely publicized with the aim of damaging the Club's image.

The demonstrations and posts attacking the Deliberative Council and pitting it against people from outside Rio de Janeiro are false and disrespectful.

It is not true that Flamengo's Deliberative Council has modified the statute to prevent or limit the association of fans from outside Rio de Janeiro. January (RJ) to the Club.

There are no restrictions on the club's membership status among all its membership categories. In other words, Flamengo members can live anywhere in the country or the world and choose any of the available membership categories.

What exists, on the contrary, is a category of partner called “Off-River"This category, only recognized by the Deliberative Council under its current administration, allows only those who live more than 100 kilometers from Rio de Janeiro to join the Club with a discount on the monthly fee.

The objective is obviously to encourage people from outside Rio de Janeiro to join, giving them another option to become a member of the Club that, it should be noted, RJ residents do not have.

There is a maximum number of people who can benefit from this discount and join this category, which is limited to 20% of the total number of contributing members. However, not only has this percentage not been reached, but there are still hundreds of open spots for new Off-Rio members, who are more than welcome.

Finally, it's important to note that democracy requires respecting the majority's decision—in this case, a large majority. Divergence is healthy, but the club's board members' decisions should not be subject to public and distorted attacks.
