Official note - response to the UOL portal

Clube de Regatas do Flamengo, in view of the article on the UOL portal, written by journalist Rodrigo Mattos, today, September 13, 2024, with the title “Flamengo has cash reduction and financial tightness after a series of expenses”, hereby clarifies some points.

The club's financial statements for June of this year are in line with its budget. Flamengo presented better financial results and cash flow than budgeted for the period.

The club is currently experiencing a political climate due to the upcoming elections, and the aforementioned journalist acknowledges that the matter stems from information he received from opposition advisors. The article cites an analysis conducted by the Deliberative Council's finance committee, subordinate to an outspoken supporter of an opposition candidate, which considered unofficial premises to advance a narrative that Flamengo's investments could cause the club financial hardship.

Regarding investments in athletes, the amounts mentioned in the article are economic, which do not reflect the same level of cash flow. As our hiring history shows, most of them are on a term basis, and the club has recently renewed contracts for recurring revenue, with increased amounts, sufficient to maintain its financial health and meet its obligations on time.

It was thanks to this financial health that Flamengo was able to restructure its roster in the face of the challenges this season presented, participate in the auction held by the Rio de Janeiro City Hall, and purchase the Gasômetro land for the construction of its stadium, a long-held dream of the entire nation. This decision was approved by the club's Deliberative Council.

The expectation for the end of 2024 is a positive result, even with all these investments, and a balanced cash flow sufficient to maintain its operations and a qualified squad at a high level, capable of continuing to compete in all championships with prominence, honoring its winning history.

It's worth noting that the current administration has generated the most revenue, delivered profits, paid off debts, achieved sporting success, and invested in assets in Flamengo's history, with notable improvements to the headquarters, acquiring the stadium land, winning the Maracanã bid, and expanding and modernizing the George Helal Training Center. All of this is achieved with best management practices and financial responsibility guiding all our decisions.

Greetings red and black!
