Dear Member and Red-Black Fan

As has already been widely reported in the press, I had the honor of having my name nominated for the presidency of the Petrobras Board of Directors.

After more than 26 years working at the company, having held various positions in its senior management, the invitation extended would be a return to a place that has long been part of my life.

Despite the size and importance of Petrobras for our country, and the enormous honor for me in holding this position, I would like to inform you that I have decided to give up this nomination, focusing all my time and dedication on the even greater strengthening of our Flamengo.

I forwarded a document to the Honourable Minister of Mines and Energy, Mr. Bento Albuquerque, with this position, expressing my gratitude for the invitation and expressing my concern that, given the dedication that both institutions would require at this time, I would not be able to perform both functions with the excellence that I desired and at the level that Petrobras and Flamengo deserve.

Regarding Flamengo, recent events have shown me the need for all of us to commit to an even greater level of dedication and focus on the Club.

As I have always said, having been re-elected by the members for a further three-year term, performing well as president of Flamengo is my top priority.

Red-black greetings

Rodolfo Lacy
President of the Flamengo Regatta Club
