Clube de Regatas do Flamengo regrets that Sport Club Internacional continues to fail to fulfill its financial commitments to this institution, while at the same time publicly announcing the signing of new athletes, such as Alan Rodríguez, announced today. According to press reports, the club has committed to paying $4 million. 

In November 2024, Flamengo filed a formal lawsuit with the CBF's National Dispute Resolution Commission (CNRD) regarding the acquisition of athlete Thiago Maia. Internacional failed to pay the five scheduled installments, all already due, totaling €1,25 million. Even so, despite the absence of any new developments to justify the postponement, the ruling was postponed and is now scheduled for September 6th.

Flamengo considers the repetition of this scenario unacceptable and expects the CBF, through its competent bodies, to act firmly and coherently in the face of a case that directly violates the principles of Financial Fair Play that the entity itself recently decided to embrace.

It is urgent that the CBF use the regulatory instruments already in place to ensure that pending cases at the CNRD are handled expeditiously and that compliant clubs are not harmed by those who repeatedly ignore their obligations.
