Clube de Regatas do Flamengo clarifies that the legal matter being heard today by the 13th Civil Chamber recognized that the Public Prosecutor's Office cannot individually represent the families of the victims of the fire at the George Helal Training Center, since the parents are adults, capable, and represented by their lawyers. Therefore, the Public Prosecutor's Office cannot file a lawsuit in their place. What occurred, therefore, was a procedural issue that demonstrated the illegitimacy of the Public Prosecutor's Office to act individually on behalf of third parties. Nevertheless, Flamengo states that it will continue to provide monthly financial assistance to the families and that it is open to reaching an agreement, as it has already done with six and a half families, that is, with most of the guardians of the boys who unfortunately died at the training center.
