We received with pride and gratitude the approval, by the Legislative Assembly of the State of Rio de Janeiro, of the bill that recognizes the importance of Clube de Regatas do Flamengo for the history and identity of our state.

More than a tribute, this recognition celebrates the role Flamengo has played for nearly 130 years in the lives of millions of people. Flamengo is emotion, culture, and affective memory. It's present in the verses of Brazilian popular music, in sports chronicles, at Carnivals, on sunny Sundays, and in the chants from the stands.

It is the club of the people and the elite, of humble neighborhoods and postcards, loved by generations of fans who found in the Red-Black Mantle a symbol of belonging, pride and passion.

Being declared a heritage site of the State of Rio de Janeiro is an honor that fills us with responsibility. We will continue working every day to represent with dignity this history that is ours and our state's.
