Thank you for everything, Lanfranco Aldo!
The red-black cartoonist left us this Thursday (05-11-2020) at the age of 95
By Flamengo Communication - inThe Flamengo Regatta Club deeply mourns the death of Flamengo cartoonist Lanfranco Aldo. Lan was 95 years old and had the Mais Querido as one of his greatest passions. We wish his family and friends strength at this sad time.
Lan was born in Italy in 1925 and, before arriving in Brazil, worked in countries such as Argentina, Uruguay, and France. He arrived in Brazil in 1953 and, 45 years ago, settled in Petrópolis, in the mountainous region of Rio de Janeiro.
In May 2011, Lan was honored in Gávea: "I'm very happy to be here today with these players who have given me so much joy throughout my life. It's a great emotion," he said at the time.
Lanfranco also told how his passion for Mais Querido began: "I participated in the Pan-American Games in Argentina in 1950. There, I met my first Brazilian friend, journalist Otelo Caçador, who, during our farewell drunkenness, made me promise that if I ever went to Brazil, I would support Flamengo. In 53, when I arrived in this wonderful country, I became a Flamengo fan and was even lucky, as the team won the Carioca Championship.
