Oncologia D'Or and Flamengo take to the field together to raise awareness about breast cancer
The campaign will take patients onto the pitch for the derby against Vasco; Maracanã will be lit up in pink.
By Flamengo and Rede D'Or - inOncologia D'Or and Flamengo will take to the field united in the fight against breast cancer. On Sunday (22), during halftime of the classic between Flamengo and Vasco, 10 patients will enter the Maracanã field holding a banner that says "O Ano Todo Rosa" (Pink All Year). The banner references Oncologia D'Or's campaign that seeks to raise awareness that breast cancer prevention should be carried out year-round. Click here to learn more! On that day, the Maracanã stadium will also be lit up in pink, to further highlight such an important cause. Breast cancer is the most prevalent cancer among women. In 2023 alone, more than 73 new cases are estimated.
"We believe that this joint initiative with Flamengo will help raise awareness of a message of extreme relevance to women's health. Women shouldn't only think about breast cancer during the Pink October campaign, as no disease has a specific date," emphasizes Marcus Vinicius J. dos Santos, regional director of Oncologia D'Or.
The partnership between the two institutions also includes two more initiatives. This Friday (20), a lecture was held at the club's headquarters for guests of both brands. Mais Querido's Director of Social Responsibility, Angela Machado, was present, alongside the girls from the "Score This Goal" social project. After the lecture, an educational quiz was held, with special gifts for participants and a visit to the Flamengo Museum. Among the gifts were shirts from Braziline, a partner brand of the club that donates 3% of the value of each shirt sold to support INCAvoluntário's activities.
