Volunteering is still not common practice in Brazil. But corporate volunteering can be a valuable opportunity to foster a culture of giving and social impact within society. With this in mind, FlaVoluntário, a volunteer program run by Clube de Regatas do Flamengo, was created. Club employees are encouraged to share their knowledge and teach in social projects. The goal is to contribute to development by supporting people assisted by partner social institutions, as well as fostering a sense of purpose and active involvement in society.  

Last Wednesday, the 19th, William da Rocha Silva, Systems Coordinator of the Club's IT Department, was at CAMP Mangueira, leading Excel workshops for young people aged 17 to 21 seeking employment. "It was an incredible experience. I went there to teach, but I came back learning. These are young people interested in entering the job market, and any guidance is very helpful. I hope I've contributed to each of them," said William.  

For those seeking professional growth, the classes were very beneficial. "Today I learned a lot about Excel and how much it makes our lives, our daily lives, and our work easier. Everyone deserves the same opportunity to learn," said Pedro, 21, a student at CAMP Mangueira. Mariana, 19, also a student at the institution, noted: "Today's class was very good for gaining knowledge. Computer skills are essential these days, something that opens doors to jobs and university," she said.

As part of FlaVoluntário, employees from other areas of the club, such as HR and Finance, will also conduct workshops on resume preparation, financial literacy, and other topics, alongside people supported by other partner social institutions. Enabling people to make a difference in the lives of others can contribute to social development and represent a significant source of personal satisfaction.
