Brazinco Sunscreen expands partnership with Flamengo Regatta Club
Support is extended to five other sports in addition to football and increases Mais Querido's care for the health of athletes
By CR Flamengo and Brazinco Sunscreen - inThe protection that was missing in competitions around the world arrives in 2019 at Clube de Regatas do Flamengo, which resumes its partnership with Brazinco Facial Sunscreen – SPF 47 to look after the health and protect the skin of athletes in six of the Rubro-Negro's sports: football, swimming, water polo, artistic swimming, canoeing and rowing.
Brazinco Protector has been on the market for over three years and is widely used in the surfing segment, supporting athletes such as the 2015 World Champion, Adriano de Souza, the 2012 SUP Wave World Champion, Leco Salazar, the current Brazilian champion, Camila Cassia, and big riders Bruno Santos, Michaela Fregonese and Raquel Hecker, as well as new generation athletes.
The two parties had already reached an agreement in 2017 with the professional football team and are now renewing this partnership, also covering the youth category and five other sports, aiming to keep the athletes' skin protected from the harmful effects of the sun's rays.
According to the Brazilian Society of Dermatology (SBD), skin cancer accounts for 33% of all cancer diagnoses in Brazil, and the National Cancer Institute (INCA) records approximately 180 new cases every year. The best form of prevention is to protect yourself from the effects of UV radiation, and this applies to all skin types, due to the increasingly aggressive nature of ultraviolet rays worldwide.
"Sunscreen creates a physical barrier that reflects solar radiation and reduces its reach on the skin. This action prevents the appearance of wrinkles, blemishes, and sagging, signs of premature skin aging caused by sun exposure. And, of course, it prevents skin cancer, the most common type of cancer in Brazil. In the case of Brazinco sunscreen, in addition to offering protection and water resistance, it also keeps the skin hydrated. It's a complete and very safe product," says Dr. Márcio Tannure, head of Flamengo's Medical Department.
The Brazinco team is composed of all professional and youth athletes in soccer, swimming, with Nathalia Almeida and Daiene dos Santos; polo, with Heitor Carrulo and Samantha Resende; artistic swimming, with Maria Clara Lobo and Laura Miccuci; and canoeing, with Isaquias Queiroz, who won three medals at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games and was the canoeing world champion this year; as well as Paralympic athlete Caio Ribeiro, who also won a medal at Rio 2016. Flamengo's founding sport also makes up the Brazinco team: rowing has Olympic athletes Willian Karlos Giaretton, Xavier Vela Maggi, and Vanessa Cozzi; Paralympians Diana Barcelos and Michel Peçanha; and Milena Matias Viana, Marcos Oscar Alves, Emanuel Borges, Francisco Bulhões Mendes, and Michael Trebbow. In addition to the products for athletes mentioned above, all athletes in these sports can use Brazinco Protector in their daily training through the Brazinco Use Display, which contains a sample of the protector and is positioned in easily accessible locations for athletes to use the product.
"As athletes in sports that involve constant sun exposure and outdoor activities, we fully understand the importance of protecting ourselves. This even impacts our performance. This partnership with Flamengo makes all the difference in my training routine and also indirectly in my planning for international competitions and Tokyo 2020," said Olympic canoeist Isaquias Queiroz.
Brazinco, a high-efficiency sunscreen, has natural components that reflect the sun's rays and is 100% water and sweat resistant, perfect for high-performance athletes, in addition to hydrating the skin with Vitamin E.
Juliano Lima, partner and creator of the project, emphasizes that the main objective of the partnership is to protect the health of Flamengo athletes, given their significant amounts of sun exposure. "With Brazinco, they'll be protected from the sun's rays during training and competitions, and because the sunscreen is 100% water- and sweat-resistant, we've eliminated the major discomfort athletes experienced when they complained about the sunscreen running and burning their eyes." Juliano also emphasizes that the partnership is part of the brand's expansion strategy, which extends its partnerships to sports other than surfing.
About Brazinco
Launched in early 2016, it arrived on the market as a differentiated national product, providing high facial sun protection, with 100% resistance to water and sweat, containing in its formula two natural components: zinc oxide and titanium dioxide, which are responsible for reflecting the sun's rays.
In stick form, the product lasts a long time, is easy to carry, discreet, and easy to apply. It's leak-proof, fragrance-free, and has a dry feel. It contains vitamin E and plant-based active ingredients derived from soy, which help retain water in the skin, promoting hydration and forming a long-lasting, velvety-touch protective film.
Brazinco Protector has already gained the trust of consumers and is ideal for people who spend a lot of time exposed to the sun, offering high protection for athletes, outdoor sports enthusiasts, pregnant women, children over six months old, people who need special skin care (melasma, moles, scars), newly tattooed people and the whole family.
