Recicla Nação collects more than 2,5 tons of waste and pays for 500 meals for homeless people

Recicla Nação is already a success! Since June, the initiative by Flamengo's Social Responsibility department, in partnership with Soul Ambiental and Gastromotiva, has been collecting solid waste through plastic cup and bottle cap collectors for recycling. All proceeds are being used to pay for meals for people in situations of severe social vulnerability.
So far, in the first month of the campaign, more than 2,5 tons of material have been collected. This amount has funded approximately 500 meals for homeless people through Gastromotiva, an organization that works to reduce food insecurity and distribute meals to people in extreme situations of vulnerability in Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo, Curitiba, Salvador, and Belém.
With the support of Soul Ambiental, Flamengo's Social Responsibility partner in this project, tons of cardboard, bottle caps, cups, and other waste were diverted from the trash to be recycled and reintroduced into other production cycles, bringing food to those who are hungry, in an initiative that combines sustainability with the fight against hunger, through a simple everyday habit.
