Estácio launched, this Thursday (5), the Youth and Adult Literacy and Literacy Project. The initiative, which is part of the Social Responsibility Program of Flamengo's partner in Olympic sports, will initially be implemented in three units in Rio de Janeiro. Representatives of the club were present at the Tom Jobim campus, in Barra da Tijuca, to honor the action. Gymnasts Rebeca Andrade and Maria Cecília Cruz, the land sports manager, Luisa Parente, the Flabasquete supervisor, André Guimarães, and the Pride of the Nation coach, José Neto, attended the ceremony.

"It was a great pleasure to participate in the launch of such an important project. A bold and commendable project that provides the necessary conditions for people to expand their knowledge. I greatly admire Estácio's goal of creating conditions so that our society can always strive to do something better for itself and for the whole," says Neto.

The first units to receive the program are Queimados, Alcântara, and Via Brasil. For a four-month period, adults and young people will be taught by students in higher education programs such as Education, Literature, History, Geography, and Mathematics, supervised by Estácio faculty. Classes will be held in the evening, lasting two hours per day, three times a week, and there is no cost to the students.

Classes will have up to 25 students, and by the end of the course, students should be able to read and write short texts with comprehension, as well as solve mathematical problems using arithmetic. This preparation is necessary for adults to enroll in EJA (Youth and Adult Education).

"This project is aligned with Estácio's mission, to Educate to Transform, and reinforces our guideline of maintaining a close and sustainable relationship with the community surrounding our facilities. college. The project also represents an opportunity for our students, who will learn in practice when working as teachers, which supports our commitment to the employability of our graduates", adds Cláudia Romano, Vice President of Institutional Relations and Sustainability at Grupo Estácio.

Interested parties can register until April 10th directly at the units offering the course. Estácio has also created a website with more information about the project:http://portal.estacio.br/alfabetizando .
