In partnership with the “Gestarte” project, which works with women's health, pregnancy and breastfeeding with women from the Acari community, in the North Zone of RJ, Flamengo's Social Responsibility was at the Espaço Cultural Mães de Acari, last Thursday (18), to participate in the Breastfeeding Workshop taught by family nurse, doula and lactation consultant Tatiana Fabiano.

The objective of the workshop, which brought together postpartum and pregnant women from the community, was to provide support, answer questions, encourage exclusive breastfeeding, and reinforce the importance of breast milk in a child's development.

"Flamengo's presence here today was incredibly important, supporting our "Golden August" project to promote this deeply neglected issue of breastfeeding. The donation of milk containers was incredible! Women will be able to use more, store it properly, and feed their children with appropriate food, without having to introduce solid foods early or use other types of milk. Flamengo's presence here today was a very important gesture for us and greatly strengthens our work," said Flavia Casciano, founder of the "Gestarte" project, which organizes workshops for pregnant and postpartum women in Acari and receives support from the Fala Akari collective, responsible for cultural and social mobilization in the region.

Also present at the workshop was rowing athlete Yanka Brito, who is 8 months pregnant and has received a beautiful belly painting.

Essential for development in the first months of life, breast milk is considered the "golden food" by the World Health Organization (WHO). To raise awareness of the fundamental role of breastfeeding, Golden August marks the global campaign to encourage breastfeeding.

To encourage exclusive breastfeeding, the CRF donated special containers for storing breast milk and baby clothes for Mais Querido.
