Salão Nobre hosts a Solemn Meeting honoring associates, collaborators and idols

Andrade and "Uri Geller" were at the event, named Honorary Members; goalkeeper Julio César was unable to attend, but was also honored with the title.

On the evening of this Friday (18), another Solemn Meeting was held in the Noble Hall of the Gávea social headquarters. The members of the Deliberative Council were summoned for the session in honor of the associates who completed 50 years of associative life, employees with 30 years of services provided to Flamengo, laureate athletes and those awarded with honorary titles of Honorary, Emeritus and Benefactor associate.

After the opening of the Solemn Session and the speeches by the president of the Deliberative Council, Antônio Alcides, the president of Flamengo, Rodolfo Landim, and the Grand Benefactor and vice-president of Embassies and Consulates, Maurício Gomes de Mattos, the titles were awarded to the honorees, among them Andrade and Júlio César "Uri Geller", as Honorary Members.

"It's a great pleasure to celebrate another Flamengo anniversary. It was a year, as always, full of emotions, but we had great sporting achievements, incredibly important ones. We started the year by winning the basketball world championship, and then came many other great Olympic victories, such as the other world championships in judo, canoeing, and artistic gymnastics. A series of achievements that will remain in the club's history. In football, we had a recovery process and managed to win the Copa do Brasil and the Libertadores, qualifying us to compete for three other major titles: the Super Cup, the Recopa, and the World Cup. We reached the end of this year with our accounts more than up to date. Our balance sheet will still be audited, but we achieved financial results above expectations. Now, more very positive expectations for next year. I wish everyone a festive evening; after all, we are also celebrating another anniversary of our club, a moment of happiness for all of us," declared president Rodolfo Landim at the opening ceremony.
