The weekend was full of excitement and close matches at the Gávea Circuit-Fla. On Saturday, we had the professional category semifinals and the members' quarterfinals. Isac Gomes and Victor Fernandes played a great match. Victor Fernandes, younger than his opponent, took the lead and easily closed out the first set 6-3. He even opened up a three-game lead in the second set, but Isac Gomes rallied to close it out 3-6. The third set was even more difficult for Isac Gomes, who used all his skill to close out the match 4-6 and win 2 sets to 2.
In the other semifinal, Leonardo Bartnik faced Antonio Malla. Bartnik set a strong pace from the start and won the first set 6-2. In the second set, Malla suffered a physical problem and had to retire. The final between Isac Gomes and Leonardo Bartnik promises a very high level of technical skill in the professional category.
On Saturday and Sunday, the members' classes also had excitement, with a good turnout, and a high level of technical skill. In the first class, Tito Sarnicola and Ailton Ginuino stood out, winning their matches and will compete in the final. Another standout was the couple Fabiana Abreu and Marcelo Grecco. Fabiana will compete in the fourth class final, and Marcelo is in the third class final.
