Texaco expands sponsorship of Flamengo football
Lubricant and grease company renews contract until 2026
By Flamengo Communication - inTexaco, one of the most traditional lubricant and grease brands in Brazil, has renewed its sponsorship contract with Flamengo until 2026. The partnership, which began in 2023 with the sponsorship of men's professional soccer, will also be expanded to the men's U-20 and women's professional soccer categories. Another new development is that the brand will be printed on the playing uniforms of the men's professional and U-20 soccer teams, and on the women's professional soccer team for the next two years (2025 and 2026) within the jersey numbers. The Texaco logo will already be applied to the playing uniforms for the debut of the Campeonato Carioca, next Sunday (12), against Boavista, at Arena Batistão, in Aracaju (SE).
The brand, which already had its logo on the men's soccer warm-up and training shirts, and since September 2024, has also sponsored the SESC RJ Flamengo women's volleyball team led by coach Bernardinho, is now expanding its sponsorship to other categories in an effort to expand support and encourage national sport.
RED-BLACK PARTNERSHIP
In addition to being featured on the game jersey, Texaco will renew its “Official Sponsor of Flamengo” status, with exclusivity in the segment, and the right to use the CRF brand and collective image of the athletes in Men's Professional Football, Men's Under-20 Youth Football, and Women's Professional Football.
The Texaco brand will also be used on the backdrops for Men's Professional Soccer and Men's U-20 Soccer, as well as on training and warm-up uniforms, and on the field boards at the George Helal Training Center (CT) and Men's U-20 Soccer Base Camp. On FLATV, Texaco will retain naming rights on the Carona com Smigol program and will have advertising on broadcasts of Men's U-20 Soccer matches.
"We've considered this a winning partnership since its inception in 2023, and expanding our sponsorship of Flamengo in soccer and supporting other sports like women's volleyball only reinforces Texaco's commitment to the development and strengthening of Brazilian sports. Like Flamengo, Texaco is a brand with a long tradition, and we want to strengthen our partnership with the red-and-black nation," says Marcos Moura, marketing director at ICONIC, which owns the Texaco brand in Brazil.
Texaco has a long-standing presence in sports, with a strong presence in both global and national motorsports, and a presence for over 10 years in the Stock Car Pro Series, Brazil's premier motorsports category, with the Texaco Racing team. Along with sponsoring soccer and volleyball, the brand is positioned to support some of the most popular sports in Brazil.
Marcos Senna, Flamengo's Marketing Director, commented on the new partnership.
"We are very pleased with this contract extension. Texaco was already our partner, and this expansion further strengthens a union of tradition and passion that extends beyond the field. We reaffirm our commitment to making Flamengo stronger. Together, we continue to pursue new achievements!"
