The greatest idol in Flamengo's history, Zico was honored with a statue in Quintino, the neighborhood where he was born. The monument, in celebration of his 70th birthday in March last year, was inaugurated on Saturday morning (24), and was attended by Galinho.

"It's gratifying to be honored in the place where I lived for almost 22 years. To be honored in life in the place where practically everything happened in the beginning. So, I'm just grateful. And I also want to thank the Flamengo fans because, thanks to them, I became who I am today," celebrated Zico.

The bronze statue was placed in Quintino Bocaiúva Square, in front of the bandstand, a symbol of the North Zone neighborhood. Hundreds of Flamengo fans gathered to pay their respects.
