Finally, the great achievement. Breno Viola, a judoka with Down syndrome and a member of the CRFlamengo team, won two medals during his participation in Judo For All, held in Ravenna, Italy.

Breno had a tough time adapting to the -66kg weight class. The red-and-black fighter represents the -60kg weight class, but since there were no opponents, he ended up taking a chance on the weight class above him. In the first fight of the day, the Brazilian defeated 2006 world champion Papp Norbet (Hungary).

Next, Breno faced Italian Daniele Procacciante. Winning by ippon (perfect strike), he advanced to the final against fellow Italian Pasi Francesco. The judoka became European champion after landing an uchi-mata 14 seconds into the match.

Bold, the Brazilian, who is trained by coach Leonardo Mataruna, bet on the Absolute category, in which he ended up taking third place.

Now, Breno has new goals. The red-and-black driver intends to participate in the next stages of the European Circuit, which will take place in October in Slovenia and England.
