Breno Viola, a CRFlamengo judoka already known for his tenacity and competence on the mats, will take his belt exam this Friday (7/12) to obtain his 2nd DAN – black belt rank.

Unlike the other judokas who will also take the belt exam, Breno will have a separate time to be evaluated by the responsible coaches.

The evaluation of the red-black team will be this Friday (7/12), at 19 pm, at the Clube de Regatas do Flamengo dojo, Gávea headquarters.

The only person with Down Syndrome to earn a black belt (1st DAN) in the city of Rio de Janeiro, Breno is Brazil's annual representative in Judo For All, a competition on the European calendar aimed at athletes with physical disabilities.

Earlier this year, Breno Viola realized his dream. After waiting to see if he could secure travel support, the judoka not only succeeded, but also won two medals (a gold in the -60kg category and a bronze in the absolute) at the Judo For All tournament in Ravenna, Italy.

By 2006, Breno had already shown signs that the investment would pay off. The judoka shone in another edition of Judo For All, winning the silver medal and narrowly missing out on his second championship.

The year 2008 is here, and, once again, Breno Viola is depending on support and sponsorship to be able to fulfill his dream of representing Brazil in the competition that will be held in April.
