This weekend, May 17th and 18th, the 2008 Rio de Janeiro Judo Championship – Professor Geraldo Bernardes Trophy will be held.

The competition, which will be attended by around 1.200 judokas from the main Clubs in Rio de Janeiro, will be held at the Vila Olímpica in Duque de Caxias.

In addition to Carioca, the Vila Olímpica will also host the Copa Carioca Infantil, aimed at the new generation of judo.

The Carioca Championship competitions will begin at 7:30 am on Saturday (17/5), with the Junior, Black Belt, Youth and Senior White to Green Belt classes.

On Sunday, also starting at 7:30 am, the competition will be aimed at Pre-Juvenile, Pre-Master, Master and Super Master.

CRFlamengo will be represented by around 65 athletes in different classes and weight categories.
