Approximately 65 children, ages 8 to 14, accompanied by their guardians, attended the Hélio Maurício gymnasium in Gávea to receive their new graduations. Due to COVID-XNUMX protocols, the classes were divided into two groups to avoid crowding. The sport's coaching staff and high-performance athletes also attended the event.

The club's vice president of Olympic Sports, Guilherme Kroll, opened the ceremony, which was led by professor Rodrigo Domiciano and athlete Walter Matheus.

Brazilian national team judoka Eleudis Valentim shared a little about her career and offered some words of encouragement to the students who, before stepping onto the mat, watched a performance by judoka athletes from the Sports School.

The students gave a short demonstration of the fundamentals that are developed daily in class and then received their new belts and certificates from the hands of the seniors.

To end the morning of joy in Gávea, a raffle was held for several Flamengo gifts and lots of photos.


The judo teams of Clube de Regatas do Flamengo rely on resources from their sponsors – Estácio, AmBev, Rede D'or – via the Federal Incentive Law/Ministry of Sport (IR) and the State Incentive Law/State Secretariat of Sport, Leisure and Youth (Seelje) of Rio de Janeiro, in addition to support from the Brazilian Committee of Clubs (CBC) resulting from the decentralization of resources originating from the Pelé Law.
