Flamengo sweated in their kimono and shone at the VI Brazil Intercubes Judo Trophy, held this weekend (August 25th and 26th) in Salvador, Bahia. With two gold medals in the men's competition, Clube da Gávea defeated strong teams such as Esporte Clube Pinheiros and Gama Filho.

Rodrigo Artilheiro (pictured) and Ricardo Ayres were the big winners of the CRFlamengo. Both defeated their last opponents with ippons (perfect strikes) and secured the top spot on the podium.

In the last fight of the day, Ricardo, who represents the lightweight category (-60kg), defeated one of the strong points of the Pinheiros team, Denílson Lourenço.

With their victories in their respective weight categories, Ricardo and Artilheiro secured their places in the pre-Olympic qualifiers that will determine the representatives of the Brazilian team at the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games.
