This Friday (25/1) the training and physical evaluations that the Brazilian team's judokas have been subjected to since last Monday will end.

The 14 athletes selected spent five days in intense training at the Ibirapuera Olympic Center in São Paulo, aiming for the Super Cup and Judo World Cup stages.

Judoka Leonardo Leite, representing CRFlamengo, is literally fighting for the starting spot in the light heavyweight category (-100kg) to compete in the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games.

According to the red-black, technical training was carried out every day in the morning, with the afternoon free to dedicate even more time to physical training, always accompanied by members of the CBJ technical committee.

Leonardo will be evaluated by the same coaching staff during the Super World Cup in Hamburg, Germany, from February 23 to 28, and the Prague World Cup from March 1 to 3. The starting position will depend on the red-and-black's performance in both competitions.

The only obstacle in Leonardo Leite's path has a first and last name. Luciano Correa, the Minas Gerais native who was the starting light heavyweight for the Brazilian national team at the Pan American Games in Rio de Janeiro, is also fighting for his place.
