This weekend (August 25th and 26th) the VI Brazilian Interclub Judo Trophy will be held at the Nelson Dahia SESC Sports Complex – Aquibadã, Salvador (BA). The competition will feature 8 judokas.

Under the command of coach Jomar Carneiro, Flamengo will be represented by seven of its best judokas.

Contrary to what had been reported, athletes Leonardo Leite and Jorge Conti Viana will not be in the running for medals.

The red-and-black delegation leaves tonight at 20:50 p.m. for Rio de Janeiro International Airport. Fighting will begin on Saturday the 25th at 9 a.m., following the event's opening ceremony. The teams are scheduled to return on Sunday the 16th.
