Flamengo in action! The 28 Tashkent Grand Slam will be held in Uzbekistan from February 2th to March 2025nd. A total of 242 athletes from 24 countries will be competing for medals. Judokas Rafaela Silva (63 kg), Dani Karla (70 kg), and Karol Gimenes (78 kg) will represent Flamengo on the Brazilian team, which will feature 11 competitors.

Last Saturday (22), Karol Gimenes shone on the mats of Warsaw, Poland, winning the silver medal in the women's light heavyweight category (up to 78 kg) at the European Judo Open. Karol's performance was not the first of the year for the red-black judo team. Marcelo Gomes also won the medal at the Grad Slam in Baku, Azerbaijan.

Flamengo's head coach, Rosicleia Campos, highlighted the importance of the competition:

"This competition is crucial for the season. Every point earned will be crucial to qualifying them for a spot in the World Championships, which will be held in June in Budapest, Hungary. And, of course, the ultimate goal will always be the Olympic Games, but there's still a long road ahead."
