Rosicleia Campos is promoted to 7th Dan
Rubro-negra is the second woman to achieve the feat in Brazil
By Roberta Pinto - inChampion Rosicleia Campos, coach of Flamengo's judo teams, was promoted to 7th Dan by the Rio de Janeiro State Judo Federation. Now, the Flamengo fan is part of a select group of judokas and becomes the second woman in the country to achieve this rank.
"I'm very happy and honored. It's a life dedicated to judo. I thank everyone who believed in me, my family, who always supported me, and Flamengo, my great passion," she said.
Rosicleia started judo at the age of 11. At 15, already called up to the Brazilian national team, she made her first international trip. For Flamengo, he won 16 state titles, eight Brazilian titles and seven South American titles.
This year, Rosi will reach the historic milestone of eight Olympics in her career: she is the coordinator of the Brazilian team that will go to Tokyo.
The judo teams of Clube de Regatas do Flamengo rely on resources from their sponsors – Estácio, AmBev, Rede D'or – via the Federal Incentive Law/Ministry of Sport (IR) and the State Incentive Law/State Secretariat of Sport, Leisure and Youth (Seelje) of Rio de Janeiro, in addition to support from the Brazilian Committee of Clubs (CBC) resulting from the decentralization of resources originating from the Pelé Law.
