Three Flamengo synchronized swimmers will represent the club at the 2017 Santiago Open, held in April in Chile. In the children's duet competition, the team representing Flamengo is Nicole Shinohara and Giovana Faria, the current Brazilian champions. Ana Clara Almeida will also be in the tournament and will perform solo in the children's category.
The event will feature teams from Mexico, Chile, Argentina, Brazil, and Uruguay. Held in Santiago, at the Centro Acuático pool of the National Stadium, the 2017 Santiago Open will bring together clubs and federations from April 13th to 16th.

The synchronized swimming teams of Clube de Regatas do Flamengo receive funding from their sponsors – Banco Bonsucesso, Furnas, Estácio, LafargeHolcim/Cimento Mauá, and EY – via the Federal Incentive Law/Ministry of Sports (IR), in addition to support from the Brazilian Confederation of Clubs (CBC) through the decentralization of resources from the Pelé Law. The renovation of the Gávea Olympic pool is supported by investments from Lafarge and Ambev via the State Sports Incentive Law/State Secretariat of Sports, Leisure and Youth (ICMS), in addition to funds from the Agnelo Piva Law/Brazilian Confederation of Clubs (CBC).
