Flamengo athletes stand out in the 5th Interfederative Swimming Tournament
Rubro-negros helped the Rio de Janeiro team win the competition trophy

The Maria Lenk Aquatic Center hosted the 5th Interfederative Synchronized Swimming Tournament last weekend (May 18-21). Flamengo not only attended but also excelled in the competition. The team was represented by five athletes from the Rio de Janeiro National Team, the overall champion. Together, the girls from the Mais Querido helped the Rio de Janeiro team reach the top of the podium twice.
Jullia Catharino, the South American junior champion, honored her title and won gold on the floor exercise for the second time this season. Manuella de Menezes, Maria Eduarda Ferreira, Grazielly dos Santos, and Joseane de Santana were part of the Rio team that competed in the team event. Rio won, and Flamengo once again took the top spot on the podium.
The next national synchronized swimming competition will take place in November. The location is yet to be determined, and clubs from across the country will compete for the title of the Brazilian Category Championship.
The synchronized swimming teams of Clube de Regatas do Flamengo receive funding from their sponsors – AmBev, Rede D'or, IRB Brasil RE, CSN, Brasil Plural, and EY – via the Federal Incentive Law/Ministry of Sports (IR), as well as support from the Brazilian Committee of Clubs (CBC) resulting from the decentralization of resources generated by the Pelé Law. The Anjo da Guarda Rubro-Negro (Red-Black Guardian Angel Project), a tax transfer for individuals, benefits all Olympic sports of the Most Beloved Club.
