Eleven athletes from Flamengo's Artistic Swimming team travel to São Paulo this Thursday (14) to compete in the national selection. The tournament, held between December 15th and 17th, determines who will be the swimmers who will be part of the Brazilian team in 2018. These athletes will join the Junior and Senior teams that will represent Brazil in international competitions.

Laura Micucci, Jullia Catharino, Jaddy Milla, and Maria Luiza Fonseca are the Rubro-Negro's debutants in the tournament. They are seeking a spot in the Junior World Artistic Swimming Championships, held in July of next year. Lorena Molinos, Giovana Stephan, Maria Clara Lobo, Juliana Damico, Maria Eduarda Micucci, Gabriela Regly, and Renan Alcântara are vying for a spot on the Senior team. Sixteen athletes from each category will be selected.
The synchronized swimming teams of Clube de Regatas do Flamengo rely on resources from their sponsors – Banco Bonsucesso, Furnas, Estácio, LafargeHolcim/Cimento Mauá, EY – via the Federal Incentive Law/Ministry of Sports (IR), in addition to support from the Brazilian Confederation of Clubs (CBC) resulting from the decentralization of resources originating from the Pelé Law.
