Rubro-Negro artistic swimming athletes participate in an online class with a Russian coach
The activity was led by Gana Maximova, one of the world's leading coaches in the sport.
By Romulo Paranhos - inFlamengo's artistic swimming athletes participated last Tuesday (12) in an online dance class, taught by Russian coach Gana Maximova, who is recognized worldwide as one of the main coaches in the sport. For the second time in a row, Flamengo was invited to participate in this activity, which is aimed at very select groups.
"The training session was a Locking dance class, a type of hip-hop. I personally found the style quite challenging, as it requires a lot of body awareness to execute the movements. It's a very strong, heavily paced dance, so I think it was very interesting for the red-and-black athletes," said Roberta Perillier, artistic sports manager at Mais Querido.
The virtual meeting also featured American and Italian athletes. Spain's Andrea Fuentes, current coach of the United States team, was present at the livestream. Gana Maximova, the project's creator, is a former athlete in the sport and currently coaches the Mixed Duet team of the Russian artistic swimming team, the best team in the world.
