Artistic Swimming athletes return to the pools for the Figures Tournament
The competition takes place this Saturday (22) at Tijuca Tênis Clube with Children's and Youth teams of the sport

With its Children's and Youth teams, Flamengo will participate in the Figures Tournament - Roberta Perillier Trophy, which will take place this Saturday (22) at Tijuca Tennis Club. In addition to Mais Querido, Fluminense, Tijuca and Guanabara will compete in the championship.
The competition consists of a single event, with athletes competing individually. Each figure forms a sequence of basic positions with transition movements between them. For each category, the athlete must demonstrate two mandatory figures and two additional figures that are drawn up to 72 hours before the competition. This competition format is only available for the Children's and Youth categories.
In total, twelve red-and-black athletes are participating in the tournament: Daniela Ferreira, Giovana Faria, Sofia Shinohara, Sofia Andrade, Ana Clara de Almeida, Emily dos Santos, Giulia Duarte, Hannah Sukman, Leonora Jareta, Luiza Araújo, Nicole Shinohara, and Thamirys da Conceição. The red-and-black coach, Marina Valadão, spoke about her expectations regarding the team's participation in the competition.
"The Figures Tournament will serve as preparation for the Brazilian Interclub Championship, which we'll be competing in next week. The expectation is that our girls will be able to overcome the anxiety of having two competitions in a row and, regardless of the result, be able to identify and understand what we need to improve for the next championship," Marina analyzed.
In this edition of the tournament, the Rio de Janeiro Aquatic Federation (FARJ) will pay tribute to Roberta Perillier, who is also one of Flamengo's artistic swimming coaches. She shared what it feels like to be honored.
"It was a really cool initiative by FARJ, which, starting this year, decided to give a name to each competition it organizes. So, this September, I was chosen by the federation members to receive this honor. It's really cool; I think everyone should be honored, sharing a little of each of our stories within the sport here in Rio de Janeiro. I'm very grateful and flattered by FARJ's attitude; I think it's a way of recognizing all the time I've dedicated to swimming," said Beta.
After the Figures Tournament, the red-black girls will head to São Paulo where they will compete in the Brazilian Interclub Championship, which will be held at Clube Paineiras do Morumby, between September 28th and 30th.
The artistic swimming teams of Clube de Regatas do Flamengo rely on resources from their sponsors – Banco Bonsucesso, Furnas, Estácio, LafargeHolcim/Cimento Mauá, EY – via the Federal Incentive Law/Ministry of Sports (IR), in addition to support from the Brazilian Confederation of Clubs (CBC) resulting from the decentralization of resources originating from the Pelé Law.
