Last weekend, Flamengo's Junior and Junior synchronized swimming teams competed in the Brazilian Championships in João Pessoa, Paraíba. The girls reached the podium, winning five silver medals, and the Junior Beginners team had the best result, winning a gold medal.
"This year, Flamengo's synchronized swimming team focused on improving its youth teams. The results of this competition show that the investment is paying off: we managed to form a new beginner children's team, which has already won two silver medals in the solo and duet events and one gold medal in the team event," said Roberta Perillier, coordinator and head coach of the sport at the club, who took the opportunity to praise the work of the girls' coaches.
"The youth team, also formed this year, has already shown significant improvement in its performances, in addition to gaining reinforcement with the athletes in the beginner category who won a silver and a gold in the solo and duet events, respectively. Our coaches Marina Valladão and Thais Telles were highly praised for the creativity and technical quality displayed in their choreography," he added.
Our next competition will take place on December 05th and 06th, with the State Championship, where we will be with the entire team in the Rio pools.
