The time has come! Flamengo athletes debut at the Pan American Artistic Swimming Championships
Mais Querido will be represented by eight athletes in the competition
By Romulo Paranhos - inThe Brazilian Artistic Swimming Team began competing in the Pan American Championship of the sport last Monday (06), in Riverside, California, in the United States. In total, Brazil took 11 athletes to the competition, eight of whom are red-black, who will make their debut this Wednesday (08). Giovana Stephan, Lorena Molinos, Gabriela Regly, Maria Clara Lobo, Maria Eduarda Miccuci, Laura Miccuci, Jullia Catharino and Renan Alcântara are Flamengo's representatives on the national team, in addition to coach Roberta Perillier.
The Mais Querido athletes will compete in the following events: free duet, free solo, technical duet, mixed technical duet, mixed free duet, technical solo, technical team, and free team in the Senior and Junior categories. The goal is to use the competition to prepare the team for the 2019 Pan American Games.
The mixed duo from Brazil and the red-and-black team, formed by Giovana Stephan and Renan Alcântara, stood out at the 2017 World Aquatics Championships and promises to compete for a medal. Only the red-and-black duo is registered for the competition, as it's only been an official category for three years.
Also from Mais Querido, Maria Eduarda Miccuci and her younger sister, Laura, were called up and for the first time will compete together in a competition for the Brazilian National Team.
