This week, Maria Clara Lobo and Lorena Molinos competed for the Brazilian synchronized swimming team in the first events of the Pan American Games in Toronto, Canada. On Thursday (July 09.07), the girls finished fourth in the Technical Routine. This Saturday (July 11.07), the team, without Maria Clara, finished fourth in the Team Free Routine.
On Thursday (09.07), the girls swam with the theme "Motorcycle". The team formed by Lara Teixeira, Maria Bruno, Branca Feres, Beatriz Feres, Lorena Molinos, Duda Miccuci, Luisa Borges and Maria Clara Lobo scored 80,8605 points, divided into Execution (24,3000), General Impression (24,4000) and Elements (32,1605). Ahead of Brazil was the host Canada, current champion of the Pan American Games, with 87,9094, Mexico (85,6740) and the United States (82,6018).
On Saturday (11.07), Brazilian synchronized swimming competed in the Team Free Routine, also with a new theme: "Carnival". With the same team that competed in the Technical Routine two days ago, still counting on Lorena, but with the replacement of the red-black Maria Clara Lobo by Sabrine Lowe, the girls reached fourth place, with 82,9000 points.
The Clube de Regatas do Flamengo Synchronized Swimming teams receive funding from their sponsors—Furnas, Estácio, LafargeHolcim/Cimento Mauá, and EY—via the Federal Incentive Law/Ministry of Sports (IR). The renovation of the Gávea Olympic-sized swimming pool is supported by investments from Lafarge and Ambev via the State Sports Incentive Law/State Secretariat of Sports, Leisure, and Youth (ICMS), in addition to funds from the Agnelo Piva Law/Brazilian Confederation of Clubs. You can also contribute by becoming a Rubro-Negro Guardian Angel. Simply transfer up to 6% of your IR due and receive your contribution back in your income tax refund.
