Mixed Duet wins gold and Maria Clara wins silver at the Argentina Synchro Open

Red-and-black athletes climb to the podium at the country's most important synchronized swimming tournament

Flamengo's synchronized swimmers took the podium at the 5th Argentina Synchro Open, Argentina's most important international synchronized swimming tournament, in Buenos Aires. After representing Brazil at the Rio de Janeiro Olympics this year, Maria Clara Lobo won silver, and the mixed duo of Renan Alcantara and Giovana Stephan took gold.

The red-black trio hit the pool at the end of this week (28, 29 and 30) and competed with teams from all over Latin America.

The synchronized swimming teams of Clube de Regatas do Flamengo receive funding from their sponsors – Banco Bonsucesso, Furnas, Estácio, LafargeHolcim/Cimento Mauá, and EY – via the Federal Incentive Law/Ministry of Sports (IR). The renovation of the Gávea Olympic pool is supported by investments from Lafarge and Ambev via the State Sports Incentive Law/State Secretariat of Sports, Leisure and Youth (ICMS), in addition to funds from the Agnelo Piva Law/Brazilian Confederation of Clubs (CBC).
