Four red-and-black athletes made it to the podium at the French Open for the Brazilian synchronized swimming team. The competition ended last Sunday (15.03) and brought more positive results for the team, a week after win gold in the combo and bronze in the technical team event in Germany.
Lorena Molinos, Maria Clara Lobo, Giovana Stephan and Jéssica Noutel hit the water on the first day of competition in France, on Friday (13.03), for the free combined routine (combo) competition. With the "Saloon" western theme, the same one presented last week, they and their teammates from the National Team won bronze, with 84,1667 points in total, behind China and Ukraine, who scored 93,2000 and 90,6000 points, respectively.
On Sunday (15.03), in the team technical routine event, which featured Giovana and Lorena, Brazil scored 81,4696 points and finished in fifth place, with the theme "Motorcyclists". The score was better than that obtained at the German Open (80,7035), when they finished third, but without the right to a medal, because the rules stipulated the sum of the two routines (free and technical) as is the case in the Olympic and Pan American Games. In France, on the contrary, the events are completely separate as in the FINA World Aquatics Championships.
