The 18th Brazilian Absolute Synchronized Swimming Championship, held until this Saturday (11/22), at the Júlio Delamare Aquatic Park, in Maracanã, was red and black. Flamengo took the top spot on the podium with 684 points. Tijuca and Paineiras do Morumby came in 2nd and 3rd place, with 519 and 92 points, respectively.

The red-black duos, formed by Giovanna Stephan and Gláucia Heier (coach) and Giovanna Stephan and Lorena Molinos (free), came in first place, with 82.330 and 85.160. Coincidentally, the Tijuca twins, Branca and Beatriz Feres, secured second place in both events, with the red-blacks completing the podium with third place.

In the technical duet, the duo of Maria Eduarda Cavalcanti and Maria Eduarda Pereira shone, winning bronze with 77.495 points. In the freestyle, another pair of twins led Flamengo to third place. Gabriella and Daniella Figueiredo wowed the audience with their beauty and charm, earning 80.995 points.

Clube da Gávea also secured first place in the free routine event with a score of 83.165. Michelle Frota, one of the most experienced members of the red-and-black team, placed third in the technical floor with a score of 79.830.

Now, the girls are preparing for the national qualifiers that will determine the group that will participate in training for the major competitions in 2009, such as the South American Junior Championships, the Junior Pan American Championships, the US Open, and the World Aquatics Championships in Rome. The qualifiers will be held from December 4th to 7th, with training starting in January.
