Last Saturday (16.11), athlete Maria Clara Lobo, in the individual competition, won the gold medal at the Brazilian Youth Synchronized Swimming Championship, which took place in Ceará. The duet formed by Maria Clara and Gabriela Regly Teixeira also brought a gold medal to Mais Querido. On Sunday (17.11), in the team competition, again featuring Maria Clara and Gabriela, in addition to Luisa Muzbeck, Julia Maria Faillesce and Maithe Pedroni, Rubro-Negro won silver.

The girls' coach, Roberta Perillier, said that Fla's performance in the competition exceeded expectations.

"It was better than I expected. We swam with only five athletes, when we should have swum with eight. And for every swimmer short of that minimum number, we lost half a point. In other words, we started with a point and a half less and still managed to stay ahead of teams with a full squad, like Paineiras and Tijuca Tênis Clube," said Roberta.

With these results, Fla finished second in the competition's overall ranking.

Athlete Maria Clara Lobo, who participated in all of Fla's victories in the competition, was very happy to reach the podium three times.

"I was very happy, because all the competitions were very strong and I thought I competed very well. It was very important for us. Now we have the Junior Selection to see who makes the team, and I have high expectations of being selected," she declared.
