In a competition held at the Júlio de Lamare Aquatic Park, Maracanã sports complex, this weekend (4th and 5th October), CRFlamengo won the title of absolute Brazilian synchronized swimming champion, by scoring the highest number of points in the general classification.
Flamengo's first victory of the day came in the Free Team event, themed "The Four Elements," in which they finished first with a total of 85,000 points. On that occasion, Flamengo was represented by Giovana Stephan, Lorena Molinos, Maria Eduarda Pereira, Michelle Frota, Joseane Martins Costa, Camila Ururahy, Marcela Pereira, and Maria Eduarda Cavalcante.
Giovanna Stephan honored the colors of Clube da Gávea by placing third in the Technical Solo competition. The red-and-black athlete earned 82,000 points and took the bronze medal, behind Nayara Figueira of Paineiras and Lara Teixeira of Tijuca, respectively.
Flamengo also took second place in the Technical Duet event, with Michelle Frota and Giovana Stephan – with 81,833. Tijuca took first place, with 84,167 points.
