Flamengo Regatta Club renewed the contracts of seven senior athletes last Thursday (March 16th). They are: Laura Miccuci, Jullia Catharino, Gabriela Regly, Vitória Casale, Jaddy Milla Passos, Luzia Galvez and Bernardo Santos. And also presented two athletes who arrive to reinforce the red-black team, they are: Ana Beatriz Nunes and Luiza Lopes.

Jullia Catharino celebrated another renewal with Mais Querido and spoke about her expectations for the season.

"I'm very happy to renew my contract with Flamengo for another year. This is my eighth year at the club, and I'm the happiest person here. I have high expectations for this year because we had a change in our calendar and moved up our Brazilian Championship, so we've been preparing as quickly as possible since the end of last year. I believe it's going to be a very spectacular year for us," said the Flamengo swimmer. 

The new athletes spoke a little more about their first moments at Mengão and how they were received.

"We'd like to thank you for all the club's infrastructure and coaching. It's been very rewarding to be starting this new season here at the club," said Luiza Lopes.

"Thank you to the athletes who welcomed us so warmly. We're being treated very well here and are very happy to be in this new phase," said new team member Ana Beatriz Nunes.

The signing took place at the Fadel Fadel Aquatic Park, at the Gávea headquarters, and was attended by the coordinator of artistic sports Roberta Perillier and the vice president of Olympic sports Guilherme Kroll.

Vice President of Olympic Sports Guilherme Kroll explained the renewal and new signings for artistic swimming.

"What was strong has become even stronger. Flamengo has total dominance in artistic swimming; we won every category in previous seasons. But this is the story of a different level; we can never relax. The star is uncomfortable. So, we must always be thinking about growth. The arrival of the two girls from Fluminense further strengthens the squad. We will have practically the entire Brazilian swimming team at the Pan American Games at the end of the year. And we have a huge chance at the Brazilian Championships in the first half of the year," said the vice president.
