Flamengo shines on the second day of the Brazilian artistic swimming competitions
Gabi Regly and Bernardo Santos win the mixed duet

Thursday saw excellent results for Mengão's artistic swimming. Still in the morning, the red-and-blacks won a double on the technical floor. Giovanna Stephan secured gold with a score of 78.301 and Jullia Catharino silver with a score of 76.220.
In the afternoon, it was time for the senior technical team category to compete. Just like in the duets competition, today's score is added to the scores in the free routine, events that will be held this Saturday (19) to determine the podium. The team that performed best in this first part was the Flamengo team formed by Laura Miccuci, Gabriela Regly, Jullia Catharino, Vitoria Casale, Jaddy Milla, Ana Clara Santos, Luzia Galvez and Giovana Leal, with 76.4951 points.
"Today was the first day and we opened up a good lead for the final stage. We're going after that title," assured Laura Miccuci.
In the junior technical floor event, Ana Clara Santos took the best with 75.366
To close the day with a flourish, it was time for the Senior Mixed Technical Duet category. Gabi Regly and Bernardo dos Santos, athletes from Mengão, put on a true show at the Júlio Delamare Aquatic Park with a re-enactment of their 2021 winning choreography. The duo drew applause and thrilled the stands with a performance worth 75.500 points.
"It was a gold medal-worthy performance. A strong, chilling choreography, with all the presence they could muster. A beautiful swim," said technical coordinator Roberta Perillier. "Temo big goals together, to compete internationally, we are even rooting for the Mixed Duet to be included among the Olympic categories", concluded Gabi.
The competition runs until Saturday at Júlio Delamare Aquatic Park. This Friday, starting at 8 a.m., the senior women's duet freestyle, senior men's freestyle solo, junior team freestyle, senior women's freestyle solo, junior men's freestyle solo, and highlight events will be held.
