This Wednesday (15), Flamengo begins the Brazilian Artistic Swimming Championship, in the pools of the Maria Lenk water park. 42 athletes from Mais Querido are registered in the categories Children, Beginner Children, Youth, Beginner Youth, Junior and Senior, who will participate in the solo, duet and team events. The Senior team will also participate in the mixed duet.

 

For Roberta Perillier, coach of the Rubro-Negro, expectations for the tournament are high. "The competition is likely to be one of the biggest in synchronized swimming in recent years. I think there are around 500 events in these four days of the championship. We are very proud to be able to participate with a strong team like ours, a team that has worked hard. We've trained all year with a greater focus on this competition, and we're rooting for success," says the coach.

 

Having won the state championship with the Senior team in October, the goal is to repeat the feat, this time at the Brazilian Championships. For the Junior, Children's, and Youth teams, the goal is to win medals. "Our expectation is to reach the podium in all categories in at least one event. We really think our senior team is very strong. It's a large group, as we're previewing the junior girls, without any commitment, but as a test, a learning experience, to increase the number of competitions and challenges for next year," explains Roberta.

The competition will start this Tuesday (14) at the Maria Lenk Aquatic Park and ends on Sunday.
