Flamengo wins five gold medals at the Solo Artistic Swimming Technical Festival
The red-black team reached the podium nine times this Sunday (15)

The Flamengo Regatta Club hosted the first edition of the Solo Technical Artistic Swimming Festival and, with the stands full, the red-and-black teams took the Mais Querido to the podium nine times. The home team won five gold medals, three silver medals, and one bronze medal.
In the Senior Women's category, Flamengo had a one-two finish, with Maria Clara Lobo securing gold and Giovana Stephan silver. In the Men's category, the title went to Renan Alcântara. The Junior category competitions were dominated by Mais Querido, which completed the podium with Laura Micucci, Rebecca Rodrigues, and Maria Clara Baroni in first, second, and third place. Jady Milla Passos won gold in the Junior category, and Ana Clara de Almeida and Nicole Shinohara secured gold and silver in the Children's category.
Winner of the Brazilian Olympic Award as the best artistic swimming athlete in 2017, Maria Clara Lobo celebrated the Rubro-Negro's result in the tournament.
"It was the first competition of the year, and it was important for the whole team. Competing at home and with a full grandstand is always very exciting, especially when you're joining the youth teams and the school, helping to grow swimming at the club. I was very happy with the result; it was my first technical solo for Flamengo, and I achieved my goal in this championship. It's also an honor to share the podium with Giovanna Stephan, who has always been an inspiration to me as a soloist," said the swimmer.
Flamengo's representative at the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympics, Maria Clara also returned to the pool alongside Luisa Borges, with whom she will compete at the South American Games. The duo performed the technical duet routine that will be performed at the competition in June in Cochabamba, Bolivia.
The synchronized swimming teams of Clube de Regatas do Flamengo rely on resources from their sponsors – Banco Bonsucesso, Furnas, Estácio, LafargeHolcim/Cimento Mauá, EY – via the Federal Incentive Law/Ministry of Sports (IR), in addition to support from the Brazilian Confederation of Clubs (CBC) resulting from the decentralization of resources originating from the Pelé Law.
