Flamengo wins two gold medals at the 3rd Figures Tournament

Giovana Faria and Ana Beatriz represented the red-black team on the highest step of the podium

The red-and-black synchronized swimming team was well represented last Saturday (16) by winning two gold medals in the III Figures Tournament of the Rio Aquatic Federation (FARJ). The medalists were Giovana Faria and Ana Beatriz Almeida in the Children's and Junior categories, respectively. The competition was held in the Tijuca Tennis Club pool.

Eight Flamengo athletes competed in three of the six categories of the Figures Tournament. In the Children's Beginner category, Giovana scored 53,1517 points and took gold. In the Junior Beginner category, it was Ana Beatriz's turn to shine, scoring 48,8892 and taking the top spot on the podium. Jullia Teixeira was Mais Querido's top finisher in the Youth Beginner category, finishing fourth by just tenths of a second.

In the last edition of the tournament, Flamengo won 21 medals, standing out in the competition at home.

The synchronized swimming teams of Clube de Regatas do Flamengo rely on resources from their sponsors – Banco Bonsucesso, Furnas, Estácio, LafargeHolcim/Cimento Mauá, EY – via the Federal Incentive Law/Ministry of Sports (IR), in addition to support from the Brazilian Confederation of Clubs (CBC) resulting from the decentralization of resources originating from the Pelé Law.
