The weekend was a weekend of competition for Flamengo's youth artistic swimming teams. Fadel Fadel Aquatic Park hosted the State Artistic Swimming Championship for Children and Youth, and, as usual, Flamengo won medals.
The standout performer was Ana Clara de Almeida, fresh off a silver medal at the South American Championships held this month in Lima. The youth athlete delivered stunning performances and won the state title in the solo and duet competitions with Giovanna Farias. The youth team, comprised of Ana Clara Santos de Almeida, Beatriz Macedo Amorim, Daniela Irigoyen Ferreiro Ferreira, Emily Vitoria Santos, Giovana Leal Faria, Hannah Rothstein Sukman, Maria Luiza Felizardo Bracarense, and Sophia Chagas Andrade, secured silver medals in the competition.
In the beginner children's category, Marissol Braga won silver in the solo and duet with Maria Alice Nicaccio. In the children's A category, Hannah Sukman won gold in the solo and mixed duet with Samuel Clemente.
And with a thrilling performance, the children's team, composed of Marissol Braga, Alicia de Oliveira Moraes Marinho, Manuela Conrado de Medeiros, Maria Alice Nicacio Santana Duarte, Maria Clara Garcia de Lana, Milena Marinho Teixeira de Carvalho Costa, and Sophya Vitoria Ribeiro Sá Rosa Araújo, won the gold medal. The team is a great prospect for the upcoming season.
The artistic swimming teams of Clube de Regatas do Flamengo rely on resources from their sponsors – Rede D'or, Coperalcool, Hoteis.com – via the Federal Sports Incentive Law/Special Sports Secretariat (SEESP), in addition to support from the Brazilian Club Committee (CBC) resulting from the decentralization of resources originating from the Pelé Law.
