Flamengo wins four gold medals at the 2nd Artistic Swimming Figures Tournament

Red-blacks dominate the competition held in the Mais Querido pool, in Gávea

DRed-and-black dominance! Last Saturday (15), Flamengo's artistic swimming teams shone in the II Figures Tournament of the modality, held at the Mais Querido pool, in Gávea. In total, Flamengo won 14 medals, four gold, six silver and four bronze, taking first place in the Beginner Children's, Children A, Beginner Youth and Junior A categories.

Competing at home, the girls from Gávea showcased their talents in the pool with technical performances that captivated everyone watching. The four gold medals came in the Beginner Children's category, won by Manuela Da Silva; the A Children's category, won by Giovana Faria; the Beginner Youth category, won by Isabela Pinheiro; and the Junior A category, won by Jaddy Portela. 

The red-and-black athletes secured second place six times, with Barbara Moreira (Beginner Youth), Ana Clara De Almeida (Juvenile A), Vitória Poleo (Beginner Children), Giulia Monteiro (Children A), Jéssica Gonçalves (Senior A) and Bernardo Silva (Senior A Men). The four bronze medals were secured by Eduarda Carrilho (Juvenile A), Maria Duran (Beginner Children), Hannah Sukman (Children A) and Rebecca Rodrigues (Junior A).

Now, the Mais Querido athletes are preparing for the 4th São Paulo Open Artistic Swimming Championship, which will be held from June 28th to 30th at Clube Paineiras do Morumby in São Paulo. This is the sport's main event of the first half of the year. 


The artistic swimming teams of Clube de Regatas do Flamengo rely on resources from their sponsors – Banco Bonsucesso, Furnas, Estácio, LafargeHolcim/Cimento Mauá, EY – via the Federal Incentive Law/Ministry of Sports (IR), in addition to support from the Brazilian Confederation of Clubs (CBC) resulting from the decentralization of resources originating from the Pelé Law.
