With 112 points, the "Mais Querido" (Most Wanted) team took third place in the Brazilian Junior Synchronized Swimming Championships, which took place last weekend (November 02nd and 03.11rd) at Corinthians, in São Paulo. Clube Paineiras do Morumby took first place overall in the competition, with 223 points, and second place went to Fluminense, with 161. The championship brought together around 40 girls, aged 14 to 18.

In the team event, Flamengo finished third with 140,8941 points. In the duet event, Flamengo athletes Beatriz Regly Teixeira and Maria Clara Lobo also won bronze with 148,3333 points. In the floor event, Maria Clara Lobo Coutinho finished second with 150,0272 points. In this championship, the athletes also competed in the figure event, a stage held only in youth competitions and worth half of the total score. In this event, all registered athletes performed specific movements for the judging committee, without musical assistance.

Coach Roberta Perillier praised the athletes' performance, but said the team had the quality to go further.

"Overall, I liked the girls' performance, but we expected a little more; we wanted to catch up with the other teams. I think our duo, with Beatriz and Maria Clara, swam very well and got a score lower than they deserved. But the athletes improved a lot. It was good for Flamengo, but of course we wanted to have won first place," said Roberta.

Also in November, the national Youth editions will be held in Ceará and Children's editions in Natal.
