Flamengo wins three gold medals at the Brazilian Interclub Artistic Swimming Championship
In the Children's and Youth categories, Mais Querido finishes in second and third place, respectively.

Last Sunday (30), the red-black girls concluded their participation in the Brazilian Interclub Championship, which was held at Clube Paineiras do Morumby, in São Paulo. In total, including the Children's and Youth categories, the Red-Black team won three gold medals and one bronze, finishing the competition in second and third place, respectively, in the overall standings.
The red-and-black girls who competed in the championship in the Children's category were Ana Clara de Almeida, Nicole Shinohara, Emily Victoria, Thamirys da Conceição and Hannah Sukman. In the Youth category, Jaddy Milla Portela, Leonora Leão, Ana Clara, Manuella de Menezes, Eduarda Carrilho, Camille Dias, Júlia Bouças and Grazielly Miranda.
In the Children's category, Ana Clara Almeida placed first in both Figures and Duet events, winning gold. She also competed on the Youth team and won a bronze medal in the team event. Jaddy Portela, competing in the Youth category, also won gold in the Free Routine event.
Marina Valadão, coach of the red-black teams, considered her athletes' performance to be very positive.
"I really enjoyed our participation in this year's Brazilian Championship. I think the standout was Ana Clara de Almeida, from the Junior category, because in addition to the Solo, Duet, and Team events, she also swam the Duet and Team events in the Junior category. In total, including the Figure events, we performed well in seven events," said Marina. "The Junior girls also surprised everyone. The team was reinforced by some Junior athletes and ended up finishing the championship in third place."
Now, the girls from Mais Querido return to Gávea to focus on preparing for the second Brazilian Championship of this year, which will be held in December in Rio de Janeiro. That same month, the red-and-blacks will also participate in the Youth Selection, a qualifying tournament for athletes aspiring to be part of the 2019 Brazilian National Team.
The artistic swimming teams of Clube de Regatas do Flamengo rely on resources from their sponsors – Banco Bonsucesso, Furnas, Estácio, LafargeHolcim/Cimento Mauá, EY – via the Federal Incentive Law/Ministry of Sports (IR), in addition to support from the Brazilian Confederation of Clubs (CBC) resulting from the decentralization of resources originating from the Pelé Law.
