The sun shone brightly on the third day of the Brazilian Artistic Swimming Championships. And the Mengão athletes didn't disappoint, taking home three gold medals and four silver medals.  

Friday began with the women's free duet performance. With 77.500 points, Flamengo won the silver medal with the duo Laura Miccuci and Gabi Regly. 

In the final combination, free duet and technical duet, the red-blacks came in second place.

Next up was Bernardo Santos' turn to put on another true show. The athlete delivered a stunning performance, scoring a 73.033, enough to secure him the top spot on the podium. A deeply emotional Bernardo spoke about the significance of this victory.

"Wow, I'm so happy! We make a lot of sacrifices to achieve this result. I'm grateful to Roberta Perillier, who supports me so much, and to the nation."

In the junior women's free team event, Ana Clara Almeida, Luzia Galvez, Giovanna Leal, Emily dos Santos, Maria Flor Melo, Maria Eduarda Milward, Maria Luiza Felizardo and Eduarda Carrilho won silver.

 

In the early afternoon, it was Duda Muccuci's turn to shine in the pool. Laura's older sister made her final national appearance. To the tune of Rihanna's "Desperado," the athlete brought her entire history as a member of the Brazilian national team to life and secured the gold medal with a score of 76.933. Jaddy Milla took silver with a score of 75.000.

"I'm so happy to be swimming here, where I've had so many experiences. Coming back here and finishing with a flourish is, literally, incredibly rewarding," said Duda.

In the junior men's free solo, Bernardo Barreto took silver

To close the day, the highlight event saw the red-and-black team maintain its top spot. Gabi Regly, Laura Miccuci, Jullia Catharino, Vitória Casale, Jaddy Milla, Giovana Leal, Duda Miccuci, Ana Clara Santos, Lorena Fontes, and Bernardo Santos delivered a stunning performance to the tune of "Beggin'" and won the gold medal with 79.833 points.

The competition ends this Saturday with the performances of the junior women's free duet, senior men's team, junior mixed free duet, and senior free team.
