By Romulo Paranhos - inFlamengo has been chosen as the host city for the FARJ Solos and Technical Duets Tournament. The competition will take place on March 28th at the Fadel Fadel Water Park and will be another aquatics community event held at the new, modern Gávea pool, considered a national benchmark.
"This will be Rio's first artistic swimming competition of the 2020 season, and it's very rewarding to host the event. It's a tournament of solos and technical duets, so the choreography has some mandatory elements. This detail requires more attention from the athletes, as any mistake means a loss of points. This makes the competition more technical and competitive. We'll be counting on the participation of Tijuca TC and Fluminense. Flamengo will be represented by athletes from all categories," highlighted Roberta Perillier, artistic sports manager at Mais Querido.
It's worth noting that the Red-Black team will not be present with its top athletes from the Senior team, as they will be traveling to the South American Aquatics Championships in Buenos Aires, Argentina, on the same day. The artistic swimming competition will be held from March 31st to April 6th at the Parque Olímpico de la Juventud.
The artistic swimming teams of Clube de Regatas do Flamengo rely on resources from their sponsors – Banco Bonsucesso, Furnas, Estácio, LafargeHolcim/Cimento Mauá, EY – via the Federal Incentive Law/Ministry of Sports (IR), in addition to support from the Brazilian Confederation of Clubs (CBC) resulting from the decentralization of resources originating from the Pelé Law.
